ORDINANCE NO. 2023-15
 
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE 2023 PROPERTY TAX LEVY
 
WHEREAS, the Village of Waterman as a corporate authority in the State of Illinois has the authority to levy for taxes; and
 
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Waterman have reviewed the proposed property tax levy in conformance with all statutes and regulations;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Waterman, DeKalb County, Illinois as follows:
 
SECTION 1. That this is an ordinance levying taxes for all corporate purposes for the VILLAGE OF WATERMAN, DEKALB COUNTY, ILLINOIS, for the tax year 2023.
 
SECTION 2. That the amounts hereinafter set forth, or so much thereof as may be authorized by law, and the same are hereby levied for such purposes as: General Corporate, Road & Bridge, Police, Audit, Tort, Social Security, Chlorination, and Recapture Revenue.
 
SECTION 3. That the amount appropriated for each object and purpose shall be as follows:

SECTION 4. That the Village Clerk shall make and file with the County Clerk of said County of DeKalb, a duly certified copy of this Ordinance and that the amount levied by Section 3 of this Ordinance is required by said Village of Waterman as aforesaid and that same be extended upon the appropriate tax books for the 2023 tax year of said Village.
 
SECTION 5. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency.
 
SECTION 6. That if any part or portion of this ordinance shall be declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such partial invalidity shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance.
 
SECTION 7. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.

which Ordinance was adopted by the Board of Trustees at a regular meeting held on the 14th day of November 2023.
 
   I do further certify that a quorum of said Board of Trustees was present at said meeting; that the deliberations and vote of the Board on the adoption of said ordinance were conducted openly; that said meeting was called and held at a specific time and place convenient to the public; that the agenda for said meeting was posted at the location where said meeting was held and at the principal office of the Board at least 48 hours in advance of holding said meeting; that notice of said meeting was duly given to all of the news media requesting such notice; that said meeting was called and held in strict compliance with the provisions of the Open Meeting Act of the State of Illinois, as amended, and with the provisions of the applicable statutes of the State of Illinois, as amended.
