Rain water leaders shall not be used as soil, waste or vent pipe, nor shall any soil, waste or vent pipe be used as rain leaders. When outside rain leaders are connected with the house drain they shall be properly trapped, the trap being so placed as to prevent freezing and shall be located at least five feet from the main drain. When inside rain leaders are used they shall be of extra heavy cast iron pipe, or of genuine galvanized wrought iron pipe or as provided in § 156.35, and need not be trapped excepting where opening in roof is not near a window as to be liable to be dangerous or offensive.
