The Zoning Board of Appeals shall consist of five members, no more than three of whom shall be of the same political party, and three alternate members, none of whom shall be members of the same political party.
(A) Requirements. The members shall meet the requirements set forth in the general statutes.
(B) Appointments; term of office. No later than July 1, 2004, the Mayor shall appoint two members and one alternate whose terms shall expire on December 31, 2005, and three members and two alternate whose terms shall expire on December 31, 2007. At the expiration of their respective terms, their successors shall be appointed for a term of four years.
(C) Compensation. Members shall serve without compensation, but may be reimbursed for any necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their official duties within the limitations of appropriations.
(D) Secretary and record keeping. The City Clerk shall act as secrets and record keeper for the Board.
(E) Meetings. The Board shall meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
