§ 37.003 CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION.
   (A)   General powers. The Civil Service Commission, as formulated by § 6B-4(a) of the Charter of the city, shall effectuate the purposes of the Charter and this chapter of the code. The membership and powers of the Commission are set forth in § 6B-4(d) and (e) of the Charter of the city.
   (B)   Compensation of Commission members; removal. The members of the Commission shall serve without compensation. The Mayor may remove a Commissioner only for misfeasance, nonfeasance or partisan activity upon notice in writing of the reason for the removal and an opportunity to be heard in his own defense before the Board of Aldermen; and the removal shall then be effective only upon the affirmative vote of ten members of the Board of Aldermen.
   (C)   Supervision of the Department of Human Resources. The Commission shall have the general supervision of the Department of Human Resources; however, the day-to-day management of the Department shall be vested in the Director of Human Resources.
