§ 70.03 PUBLIC EMPLOYEES TO OBEY TRAFFIC REGULATIONS; EXEMPTIONS FOR AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLES.
   (A)   The provisions of this title shall apply to the drivers of all vehicles owned or operated by the United States, the state, or any political subdivision of the state, except that the driver of any authorized emergency vehicle when responding to an emergency call upon approaching a red or stop signal may proceed cautiously past the red or stop sign signal.
   (B)   The driver of any authorized emergency vehicle shall assume no special privilege under this section except when the vehicle is operated in response to an emergency call or in the immediate pursuit of an actual or suspected violation of the law.
