7-4-1: SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL PRIORITIES:
Snow and ice removal is provided on public roadways based on numerous factors, including: the type of road, the volume of population served, safety, reasonable rotation of services, budget limitations, and the availability of labor, equipment, and materials. Plowing priority is given first to arterial and collector streets, followed by secondary and residential streets. Many rural roads, particularly gravel, dirt, natural, or unpaved roads, cannot be plowed, and snow and ice removal is impractical. Crew safety and potential damage to equipment also are important factors when prioritizing snow and ice removal on the many miles of roads in the county. (Ord. 2024-1248, 1-16-2024)
