AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING VARIOUS TITLE 10 ZONING REGULATIONS, CREATING A PILOT PROGRAM FOR A TEMPORARY HOUSING ACCOMMODATION, AND CHANGING VARIOUS PENALTY PROVISIONS
RECITALS AND LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS
WHEREAS, Washington County desires to adopt and amend various Title 10 zoning regulations applicable to use and development of land in the county;
WHEREAS, Washington County wants to ensure that the County and its residents continue to have safe, secure, reliable and attainable housing options during the current housing crisis, by adopting a pilot program where family members can temporarily utilize specified recreational vehicles as a housing accommodation if qualified for the pilot program;
WHEREAS, establishing standards for the temporary housing accommodation will help ensure that health and safety concerns are met;
WHEREAS, amending various penalty provisions in Title 10 also provides for the health, safety and security of the County and its citizens;
WHEREAS, the proposed changes to Title 10 are necessary and proper for the safety, peace and good order of the County and its citizens; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the County Commission of Washington County, Utah, that the attached Title 10 zoning regulations are adopted, and shall be incorporated into the ordinances of the County, as Title 10, Chapter 28, and Title 10, Chapter 1, Section 21.
Section 1. Repealer. Current regulations in conflict with the attached provisions are repealed and replaced as set forth herein, and any provision of the code found in conflict with this ordinance also is hereby repealed.
 
Section 2. Enactment. Title 10, Chapter 28, and Title 10, Chapter 1, Section 21, are attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A, and are hereby adopted.
 
Section 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance is declared to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder shall not be affected thereby.
 
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect upon execution below, and upon posting in the manner required by law fifteen days after its passage. Following its passage, but prior to the effective date, a copy of the ordinance shall be deposited with the County Clerk and a short summary of the ordinance shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the County.

Notice of Adoption of Washington County Ordinance No. 2022-1210-O
 
On June 21, 2022, the County Legislative Body of Washington County adopted Ordinance No. 2022-1210-O, ‘An Ordinance Adopting and Amending Various Title 10 Zoning Regulations, Creating a Pilot Program for a Temporary Housing Accommodation and Changing Various Penalty Provisions.’
 
The purpose of this ordinance is to: establish standards for the temporary housing accommodation to ensure that health and safety concerns are met.
