The Minnesota Legislature through M.S. § 469.190, as it may be amended from time to time, has authorized the imposition of a tax upon lodging at a hotel, motel, rooming house, tourist court or other use of space by a transient. The Waseca City Council finds that the imposition of such a tax would provide funding for a Tourism and Visitor Bureau to promote the city as a tourist destination.
