For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
MOBILE HOME. Any vehicle or similar portable structure used, or so constructed as to permit its being used, as a conveyance in a single unit on the public streets or highways and designed to permit occupancy thereof as a dwelling place for one or more persons. The system for allowing transporting the structure is included in the structure itself (including but not limited to: axles, wheels, tongue) as opposed to being transported on a trailer or wagon separate and apart from the structure. These structures are not subject to the purview of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Housing, Building and Construction, Division of Building Code Enforcement.
MODULAR HOME. A manufactured home built to the specifications of the Commonwealth of Kentucky Plumbing and Building Codes and subject to inspection thereupon. The modular home is built in one location and is transported by specially built and/or designed trailer or wagon for a one- time transfer to its permanent location where it is placed upon a permanent foundation. Its mode of transportation is not built into its permanent structure.
