The City will provide ambulance emergency squad service in exchange for an assignment of insurance company proceeds available to the user, whether a resident or nonresident. Ambulance emergency squad service shall include, but not be limited to, transporting individuals to a medial facility and arriving at a location where medical attention is requested, even if the individual declines to be transported to a medical facility. The City will not charge or collect from residents any amount of money in excess of the amount of the insurance company proceeds. Any costs that are not covered by the resident’s insurance shall be waived. The nonresident user is responsible for any amount not paid by his or her insurance. This section shall be effective for all ambulance emergency squad services rendered on or after January 1, 2024.
