Resignation from the Department shall be in the form prescribed by the regulations and shall be effective upon acceptance by Council.
Members in good standing entering the armed forces of the United States shall be deemed furloughed and shall retain seniority and other rights of service during their absence.
Furloughs may be granted by the Chief for a period not to exceed six months with approval of the Safety Director upon written application therefor. Absence beyond six months without approved extensions shall be grounds for dismissal except as otherwise provided in this chapter. (Ord. 1979-4. Passed 1-2-79.)
