141.07 PROBATIONARY NATURE OF APPOINTMENT.
   In the event an officer is appointed under this chapter as a police officer, except such as are now holding office as permanent police officers, such appointment shall be deemed to be for a probationary period of one year of continuous service, and no such appointment shall be deemed final until such appointee has satisfactorily served his probationary period and the appointment has been made final by the action of the Director of Public Safety, Chief of Police and as prescribed by the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission. Any police officer hereafter appointed to permanent status after having served such probationary period shall be appointed as a police officer.
