In commercial buildings hereafter erected, altered or modified, the interior partition walls shall be constructed as follows:
(a) The studding shall be noncombustible, either metal or fire-retardant treated wood.
(b) The wall material shall be five-eighths inch Fire Code drywall or a material equivalent in fire resistant rating.
(c) Multi-tenant buildings shall have a minimum fire resistant rating of two hours between occupants. The walls must terminate the underside of the roof structure and be properly fire-stopped and sealed to prevent smoke and gases to pass between occupants.
(d) Doors passing through interior partition walls from the office to the work area of the same occupancy shall have a three-quarter hour fire resistance rating. The doors must be equipped with an automatic door-closing device.
