All sidewalks hereafter constructed, repaired or altered in any public street shall be installed and constructed as follows:
(a) Five feet in width, with the property side of such walk parallel with and six inches distant at right angle measurement from the street line, except streets which have an existing walk, in which case all new walk or replaced walk shall conform to the width now existing.
(b) The top surface shall at all points coincide with the line described as follows: beginning at the curb line at the established curb grade as determined by the Council; thence extending to the street line at right angles to the curb line with a rise of three-eights of an inch to the foot.
(c) Concrete walks shall be installed on a two-inch cinder or sand bed with a minimum concrete thickness of four inches. The concrete shall be monolithic with a 1:2:3-1/2 mix and shall be well mixed, carefully placed and broom finished.
(d) Sandstone or bluestone walks shall have a minimum thickness of two and one-half inches and shall be laid on a two-inch cinder or sand bed.
(e) All walks of either stone or concrete constructed across driveways shall have an additional thickness of one and one-half inches for the full width of the driveway. (Ord. 1957-33. Passed 3-19-57.)
