(A) Each on duty employee of the town is expected to provide assistance to community emergency service personnel when requested if the assistance requested is:
(1) Within the ability of the employee; and
(2) Does not unreasonably place the employee at risk; and
(3) Does not leave town interests either unreasonably exposed to risk of loss or in such a way as to pose an unreasonable risk to the interests of others.
(B) Any such town employee who provides such assistance shall notify that employee's immediate superior of the particulars at the first available opportunity.

(C) (1) To the extent that the following is not inconsistent with either state law or an express directive contained in a then effective ordinance or resolution of the Town Council, an employee who has been dispatched by Huntington County and as a result provided emergency service as a member of the Warren/Salamonie Township Fire Company during time which is also that employee's regular working time as a town employee, shall be paid by the town for that regular working time as a town employee without decrease or increase in compensation to that employee from the town as a result of that employee service.
(2) As provided in Indiana Public Law 68, an employee dispatched as provided in § 34.02(C)(1) above need not clock out to leave, but an adequate record of time spent in any such emergency service during time paid for by the town under § 34.02(C)(1) shall be determined and maintained by that employee's immediate supervisor.
