752.06 EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
   (a)   No individual shall be entitled to have a masseur or masseuse license provided for in this chapter issued to that individual, nor shall an individual who has been issued such a license have such license renewed, unless and until that individual: has satisfactorily completed, from a recognized school, at least one hundred nonrepetitive hours of formal education and training in massage therapy and/or sanitation, anatomy, physiology, massage procedures, massage practice and massage theory; or is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. (NCBTMB).
   (b)   For the purpose of this chapter, the words "a recognized school" mean:
      (1)   Any program accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Association (COMTA) which has for its purpose, in whole or in part, the teaching of the theory, method, profession or work of massage; or
      (2)    Any school or educational institution that is a member school of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) which has for its purpose, in whole or in part, the teaching of the theory, method, profession or work of massage; or
      (3)   Any school or educational institution that is registered by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools, or any school or educational institution holding the substantial equivalent of such registration issued by a board or agency substantially equivalent to such Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools in another state, which has for its purpose, in whole or in part, the teaching of the theory, method, profession or work of massage.
