1505.03 DEFINITIONS.
   (a)   Wherever "Municipality" is used in the Fire Prevention Code, it means the City of Warren, Ohio.
   (b)   Wherever "corporation counsel" is used in the Fire Prevention Code, it means the Director of Law for the City of Warren, Ohio.
   (c)   Wherever "fire limits" is used in the Ohio Basic Building Code or any part of the Codified Ordinances, it means Article V (5), National Building Code, 1976 edition and as amended, as recommended by the American Insurance Association.

   (d)   Whenever “accepted engineering practice” or an “approved standard” is used in this Part Fifteen - Fire Prevention Code, the Ohio Building Code or any part of these Codified Ordinances, it means that the provisions, requirements, recommendations and determinations in the standards or other publications are prima-facie evidence of conformity with an accepted engineering standard or with an approved standard. The edition of the standards or other publications referred to are:
(1)   Fire Prevention Code, 1976 edition and 1982 amendment by the American Insurance Association, or current edition or amendments;
(2)   Ohio Fire Code, current edition;
(3)   Ohio Basic Building Code, current edition;
(4)   National Fire Codes (NFPA), current edition.

   (e)   Wherever "fire prevention" is used it means: the preventative measures which provide for the enforcement of the life safety provisions contained within this Code; the safe conduct and operation of hazardous processes; storage of combustible and flammable materials; conducting fire drills; the maintenance of fire protection, detection and extinguishing service equipment and good housekeeping conditions; that part of fire protection activities exercised in advance of the outbreak of fire to prevent such outbreaks and to minimize loss when fire does occur; to review and approve any required fire protection systems or equipment required by another part of this Code, but not limited to fire suppression systems, standpipe systems, automatic fire alarm systems, manual fire alarm systems, fire pumps, emergency standby systems and fire safety devices.
