The City Arbor Commission shall continue to remain in force and effect. Effective July 1, 1998, however, said Commission shall consist of seven members, all citizens and residents of the City, who shall be appointed (when timely) by the Mayor with the approval of Council.
(a) Term of Office. The term of office of a member of the Commission shall be three years. In the event that a vacancy shall occur during the term of any member, his successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion of the term.
(b) Compensation. Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation.
(c) Meetings. The Commission shall continue to choose its own officers, make its own rules and regulations and keep a journal of its proceedings. A majority of the members shall be a quorum for the transaction of business.
