It shall be the duty of the Director of Public Service and Safety to determine the number of all buildings, entrances or lots within the City, by this chapter required to be numbered, according to the map now on file in the office of the Director of Public Service and Safety. Such map is adopted and approved. All new buildings in the City shall be assigned a number by the Director of Public Service and Safety in accordance with the plan of numbering and the map prepared in accordance with such plan as herein set forth.
