701.10 EXCEPTIONS.
   The provisions of this Code shall not apply to any officer selling goods under judicial process, nor be construed to require of the vendor of any product of his own raising, or the vendor of any article manufactured by himself, to take out a license to vend or sell in any way, by himself or agent, any such article or product; nor to any person selling or offering for sale, fruits, vegetables, meats, produce or other articles, the product of his farm or rented land, nor to children under the age of sixteen years who peddle fruits, candies, nuts, cakes or refreshments or newspapers; provided, that they do not occupy a stand on any street or public ground in the City, nor sold for charitable, benevolent or church purposes. Also, for lectures on scientific, historic or literary subjects, musical parties or concerts, exhibition given or made by citizens of this City or for charitable, benevolent or church purposes, no license or permit shall be required.
