549.09 DISPLAY OF WEAPONS.
   (a)   No persons shall exhibit for sale in a showcase or a show window adjacent to a street or sidewalk, or an unlocked show case within any premises any pistol, revolver, dagger, stiletto or any knife fitted with a mechanical device for automatic release of the blade, opening the knife and locking the knife in the open position, or any weapon referred to in Section 549.06(a), or display any sign, poster or cartoon or display card suggesting the sale of any of the foregoing items.

   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. If, however, the offense was committed on school premises or in a school building or within 1,000 feet of the boundaries of any school premises, a violation of this section is a misdemeanor of the first degree.
