Upon receipt of an application to make a cut into pavement, the city clerk may issue a permit to make such pavement cut. Before such permit is issued, the city clerk shall collect from the applicant a deposit of money to guarantee the cost of repairing the same and restoring the street to its original condition. The deposit required shall be a sum equal to five dollars ($5.00) per square foot of the paving to be affected by said paving cuts or excavations. (Ord. 861 §1, 1998)
