The director may, for good cause shown, extend the hours of any park, or portion thereof, for recreational, religious, civic, charitable, benevolent, fraternal or similar activities which shall be granted upon the application for a permit. The director shall also have the authority to declare any park, or section thereof, temporarily closed to the public when he determines that an emergency exists which affects the health, safety and welfare of the city or the protection of its property. Such closing may continue in effect until the next council meeting which shall review the circumstances and either rescind the closing or allow it to continue. (Ord. 690 §1, 1989)
