5.04.380: BUILDING AND HOUSE MOVING CONTRACTORS; BOND:
No license shall be issued or granted to any person, firm, association or corporation to engage in the business of moving buildings or houses in the city unless such person, firm, association or corporation has previously entered into an approved bond or undertaking covering all permits issued to such person, firm, association or corporation during the period for which it is executed, in the penal sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), payable to the city. Such bond shall be conditioned that he or they will comply with all ordinances of the city relating to and regulating the occupation of house or building moving; that he or they will restore or cause to be restored, with materials of like kind and quality, all streets, sidewalks, curbing and gutterings in the city in anywise damaged by the principal obligor while moving houses or buildings pursuant to a license granted under this section and sections 5.04.360 and 5.04.370 of this article; that the principal obligor will restore or cause to be repaired, with materials of like kind and quality, any damage to privately owned property, houses, buildings or stationary objects lawfully on or adjacent to said street or highway within the city, and restore or pay reasonable damages for injuries to shrubs, trees, grass, flowers, lawns and the like on privately owned property or on parks or parkways owned or controlled by the city; and that the principal obligor will protect and save harmless the city against any liabilities imposed by law against the city, on account of negligence on the part of the principal obligor as a direct result of the moving of any house, building or buildings pursuant to license granted under this section and sections 5.04.360 and 5.04.370 of this article.
