(A) The Village Clerk shall hold his or her office for a term of four years and until his or her successor is elected and has qualified. If a vacancy occurs in the office of Village Clerk, it shall be filled by the President, with the advice and consent of the Village Board, and the person so appointed shall hold office until the next regular or special municipal election in the village.
(B) His or her duties shall be such as are prescribed by law or ordinance, and in addition thereto such other duties as may be imposed upon him or her from time to time by the Village Board or the Chairperson of Accounts and Finances.
(C) He or she shall be under the direction and supervision of said Chairperson of Accounts and Finances.
