(a) The funds received from the tax levied in Section 896.02 shall be accounted for and known as the Lodging Tax Fund and subject to appropriated by the City Council.
(b) The funds generated by the provisions of this chapter shall be appropriated and disbursed from the Lodging Tax Fund as follows, at the discretion of Council:
(1) Sporting events.
(2) Cultural arts and performances.
(3) Community service organizations.
(4) Special events.
(5) Projects for the restoration beautification and enhancement of current facilities/structures and other beautification projects.
(6) Any other project or expenditure which would enhance the City's appeal to visitors and tourists.
(c) A Tourism Commission shall meet quarterly to review applications for funding and will submit recommendations to Council for its approval and appropriation.
(d) The Tourism Commission shall consist of five members, all of which shall be resident citizens of the City. One member shall be a member of City Council and shall be appointed by City Council. One member shall be from City administration and shall be appointed by the Mayor. The remaining three members shall be appointed by the member from City Council and the member from administration, with each of these three remaining members to be approved by City Council. All members of the Commission will serve two year terms that coincide with the terms of City Council.
