(a) No person shall ignite or knowingly allow a fire in, or cause rubbish, trash, paper, wood, brush, construction materials, grass, leaves or any other combustible or recyclable materials to be open burned or burned in, any incinerator, fireplace, woodburner, barrel, pit, open area or any other container. A burn permit may be acquired from the Fire Chief of the City for some materials as allowed by Section 1301:7-7-03 Section 307 of the Ohio Fire Code.
(b) Clean, dry, stackable wood may be burned in any safe appliance for the preparation of food or for body heat. The fire shall not exceed the size that is needed for the occasion, nor shall it give off large amounts of ash, smoke or offensive odors.
(c) No materials of any kind shall be burned to facilitate ease of removal.
(d) All ceremonial fires must be inspected by the Fire Chief or his or her agent before being ignited.
