Any person who shall violate any provisions of this chapter or fail to comply with any of its requirements, or who shall erect, construct, alter, repair or do any work upon or in connection with, any buildings or structures in violation of a plan therefore or disobey any order or directive relating thereto approved or made by the Director of Service and Safety or his or her designee, or of a permit or certificate issued under this chapter, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) or by imprisonment for not more than thirty days, or both; such fine and imprisonment shall be for each provision of law thus violated. Each day that any such violation or failure continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
