(a) Public Water Supply and Distribution Systems.
(1) Public wells and other public water distribution systems shall meet the current requirements of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and Ohio R.C. Sections 6111.44 through 6111.46.
(2) After a public water main has been completed, it shall be disinfected in accordance with AWWA C601-81, "Disinfecting Water Mains."
(3) After a main has been disinfected and flushed out, it shall be subjected to a pressure and leakage test in accordance with AWWA C600-82.
(4) After a main has been disinfected and tested, samples will be collected from the extremities and midpoints of the main by a representative of the City and bacteriological tests shall be performed. If bacteriological tests show the water to be safe, the main may be placed in service. If bacteriological tests show the water to be unsafe, the main shall be completely disinfected again at the expense of the developer.
(b) Individual Water Supply Systems.
(1) Where public water supply is not available, the subdivider shall supply acceptable evidence of the availability of water. The subdivider may be required to make one or more test wells in the area to be platted if such evidence is deemed not acceptable.
(2) Copies of well logs which are obtained shall include the name and address of the well driller and shall be submitted with the plat to the Planning Commission.
(3) In all cases where it has been determined that individual water supplies from private wells are not feasible, a public water distribution system will be required.
