1024.05 BARRICADES AND WARNING LIGHTS.
   (a)   Every person who makes an opening in any street, or who occupies, or causes to be occupied, any portion of any street with building material, or other obstruction, shall provide sufficient barricades and warning lights to protect pedestrian and vehicular traffic. No less than two warning lights shall be securely and conspicuously posted in or near such opening, excavation, building material or obstruction, one or more at each end of the space excavated or occupied, and, if the space occupied by the opening, excavation or obstruction exceeds ten feet in extent, the person shall cause additional lights to be posted as aforesaid, for every additional ten feet in extent of the position so opened, obstructed, or excavated, and shall keep the lights burning during the hours of darkness, or at any time when ordinary visibility is obscured.
   (b)   The Director of Public Service and Safety, or any authorized assistant, may, at his or her discretion, require additional barricades and lights in the case of any opened, obstructed, or excavated area.
   (c)   If such person, company or corporation, etc. is observed not properly maintaining traffic in accordance with this section the City shall revoke the permit, require such traffic control or provide the required control and bill the individual for any costs incurred.
