880.06 BOND.
   (a)   The applicant applying for a license shall furnish and file a bond with the City Auditor in the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) of sufficient surety to be approved by the Mayor. The bond shall be payable to the City and shall be conditioned on indemnifying and saving the City, and any resident thereof, from any and all damage of fraud, occasioned by solicitation. The bond shall remain in force not more than one year and shall expire ninety days after the licensee has notified the Police Chief, in writing, that he or she has ceased soliciting or canvassing and has surrendered the license to the Police Chief.
   (b)   Nothing in this section shall prohibit any person from selling or taking subscriptions for religious books, magazines or literature, or prevent the agents or employees of any person having a permanent place of business in the City to post such bond at the discretion of the Police Chief.
