248.02 COMPENSATION; PARTICIPATION IN OHIO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM; CLOTHING ALLOWANCE.
   (a)   Emergency Medical Technicians (E.M.T.s) and Emergency Rescue Drivers (E.R.D.s) of the Wapakoneta EMS Auxiliary shall be paid for their services as follows:
 
(1)
Emergency Rescue Driver:
$20.00 per run
EMT - Basic:
$35.00 per run
EMT - Advanced:
$35.00 per BLS Run
$40.00 per ALS run
EMT - Paramedic:
$35.00 per BLS Run
$45.00 per ALS Run
 
      (2)   An additional ten dollars ($10.00) per run per E.M.T. for a multiple victims run when transport is made.
      (3)   Thirty dollars ($30.00) per E.M.T. when called to the scene and there is no transport to be made or a fire stand by run.
      (4)   Sixty cents ($.60) per hour for scheduled on-call time. On-call rates will be $0.75 per hour for weekends and holidays. Specified holidays are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
   (b)   E.R.D.s shall be required to participate in, and successfully complete, the Ohio Emergency Vehicle Operations course. In addition, E.R.D.s shall also successfully complete the coursework and maintain certification as a First Responder.
   (c)   E.M.T.s and E.R.D.s are considered to be intermittent employees, as defined in Section 123:1-47-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code, of the City, and shall therefore be required to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System (P.E.R.S.).
   (d)   E.M.T.s and E.R.D.s will be paid seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per hour for mandatory training.
   (e)   E.M.T.s will be paid seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per hour for manning the rescue squads during mandated events.
   (f)   In addition to the stated compensation, the City will furnish approved clothing for the E.M.T.s and E.R.D.s as follows: New E.M.T.s and E.R.D.s joining the EMS Auxiliary shall receive one three-season jacket and pant and four shirts. Thereafter, worn or damaged items of uniform clothing will be replaced at the City's expense at the discretion of the Fire Chief. In the event that an E.M.T. or an E.R.D. resigns from or ceases to be active in the EMS Auxiliary, he or she shall be required to turn in all items of uniform clothing and any and all other property of the City in his or her possession to the Fire Chief.
