1042.99   PENALTY; EQUITABLE REMEDIES.
   (a)   Whoever violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree and shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned not more than sixty days, or both, for each offense. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.

   (b)   Whoever violates Section 1042.02(b) and/or any of the rules and instructions attached to a permit and upon which such permit is conditioned, or makes a connection and covers it with earth or any other obstruction prior to the issuance of a connection permit and/or prior to inspection by the Inspector of Buildings, shall, in addition to the penalty specified in subsection (a) hereof, be required to uncover such connection to allow for inspection. If the person responsible for the connection fails to uncover the same within fifteen days after receiving notification by the Village to do so, the person responsible for making the connection and the property owner shall be jointly and severally liable to the Village for any costs incurred by the Village in uncovering the connection.
