§ 94.066 BOATS, REGULATIONS FOR USE.
   (A)   Permits for motorboats.
      (1)   No person shall operate any motor boat on the lake, unless a current permit has been issued for such boat by the City Clerk. No such permit shall be issued unless the boat is in compliance with all applicable provisions of this subchapter.
      (2)   (a)   An annual boat permit, valid for the calendar year, may be obtained upon payment of a fee as set by the Council, by motion or resolution, for boats propelled by a motor of more than ten horsepower, or boats propelled by a motor of ten horsepower or less.
         (b)   A daily permit, valid only for the day for which issued, may be obtained for a boat propelled by a motor of more than ten horsepower, upon payment of a fee as set by the Council.

   (B)   Boats to be equipped with floats. It is unlawful for any person to operate or maintain any character of boat in and upon the waters of the lake, for pleasure, fishing, or any other purpose, without first providing such boat with at least two air chambers or floats of such size and capacity and with sufficient buoyancy to keep such boat afloat under all reasonable circumstances and conditions of the weather.

   (C)   Boat operation while intoxicated or under influence of drugs; reckless operation. It is unlawful for any person to operate any boat, motorboat, or any other type of watercraft on the lake while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or narcotics or other habit-forming drugs, or to operate any boat, motorboat, or any other type of watercraft on the lake in a careless, wanton, or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.

   (D)   Speed limit for boats near shore or dam. It is unlawful for any person to operate any motorboat on the lake at a speed in excess of five mph when such boat is within 200 feet of the shoreline or 300 feet of the dam.
