§ 35.48 SEASONAL EMPLOYEES AND COLLEGE STUDENT INTERNS.
   (A)   Subject to the availability of appropriated funds and the needs of the Department of Public Service, the Director of Public Service may employ leaf rakers, yard waste collectors, seasonal code enforcement officers and other seasonal employees to perform unskilled labor. Leaf rakers and yard waste collectors shall be compensated at the rate of $10.00 per hour. Seasonal code enforcement officers shall be compensated at the rate of $13.00 and other seasonal unskilled labor employees shall be compensated at the minimum wage for the State of Ohio. Leaf rakers, yard waste collectors, seasonal code enforcement officers and other seasonal employees with good performance evaluations may, with the approval of their supervisors, receive a bonus of fifty cents ($0.50) per hour or $1.00 per hour so long as they maintain their good performance.
   (B)   Subject to the availability of appropriated funds and the needs of the Department of Public Service, the Director of Public Service may employ seasonal college student interns to perform skilled labor in the area of information technology and Engineering Services at a rate of $13.00 per hour.
   (C)   Subject to the availability of appropriated funds and the needs of the Department of Public Safety, the Director of Public Safety may employ seasonal college student interns and other seasonal workers to perform unskilled labor. Such workers shall be compensated at the minimum wage for the State of Ohio.
   (D)   Seasonal college students who return to work in consecutive years may receive an additional wage increase of fifty cents ($0.50) per hour the second year and $1.00 per hour the third year and subsequent years, provided that the student maintains a record of satisfactory performance. In no case shall the additional wage increase exceed $1.00 above the regular hourly rate.
