(A) In the Police Department there shall be one Chief of Police compensated under compensation range PM-7 as set forth in § 35.47 of this chapter and one Police Lieutenant compensated under compensation range PM-5 as set forth in § 35.47 of this chapter. There shall be no more than five Sergeants, 27 Patrol Officers, 11 full-time Dispatchers, one full-time Dispatch Supervisor compensated under compensation range PM-1, one Police Administrative Assistant, who shall be compensated under compensation range C-7 as set forth in §35.47, and a maximum of 25 auxiliary Patrol Officers. Not to exceed two additional Patrol Officers and two additional Sergeants may be employed, provided they are in training to replace officers who have separated employment, committed to retire or to replace officers who will be promoted due to an officer's commitment to retire.
(B) Each Sergeant, Patrol Officer and full-time Dispatcher in the Police Department shall be compensated and provided other benefits in accordance with the existing collective bargaining agreements as authorized by ordinance.
(C) The auxiliary police shall be compensated as follows:
Uncertified Auxiliary Patrol Officers or OPOTA Certified Auxiliary Patrol Officers with less than five years of full-time peace officer experience | The established minimum wage set by the State of Ohio |
OPOTA Certified Auxiliary Patrol Officers with five years or more of full-time peace officer experience | $17 per hour |
(D) Certified Auxiliary Patrol Officers shall be entitled to receive a clothing allowance of $400 annually.
