§ 161.42 SIDEWALKS AND/OR SHARED-USE PATHS.
   (A)   Location criteria. The placement of sidewalks or shared-use paths will be determined by the location of the plat/subdivision. Sidewalks will be required where needed to provide a connecting link to existing or planned sidewalks or shared-use paths on adjacent properties in order to fill gaps in the pedestrian network.
   (B)   Design standards.
      (1)   All sidewalks and shared use paths must meet ADA requirements.
      (2)   The minimum width of a sidewalk shall be five feet and the minimum width of a shared use path shall be eight feet.
      (3)   The city will utilize the MnDOT standards to determine appropriate design standards for all pedestrian facilities.
      (4)   Sidewalks located along roadways should have a four-foot minimum landscaped boulevard where feasible to accommodate snow storage.
