There is hereby created in the Township an Environmental Commission, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:56A-1 et seq., with the membership, powers, duties and responsibilities hereafter set forth in this subchapter. The Commission is established to research, discuss and recommend to the township various environmental programs and policies that would facilitate the protection and improvement of the environment, efficient management of natural resources, promote a sustainable community, and enhance the aesthetic appearance of the township, as well as the protection, development or use of natural resources located within the township.
