§ 31.02 DESIGNATION OF APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY.
   The Director of Public Safety, who shall be a member of the Township Committee, shall be designated as the appropriate authority as provided in the state statutes, N.J.S.A. 40A:14-118. The Director of Public Safely shall be responsible for the overall performance of the Police Department. The Township Committee, with the recommendation and input of the Director of Public Safety and the Chief of Police, shall adopt and promulgate rules and regulations for the government of the Police Department and for the discipline of its members.
