Definitions:
“Alternate methods” means any method or material, approved by the building official, that provides an equivalent means of meeting safety and other code requirements.
“Barrier” means any material or assembly which restricts access by children to a body of water. Fences, gates, walls, or the exterior walls of a building, or any combination thereof may be considered as part of a barrier.
“Pool” means any material or construction which is designed to hold or transfer water. Examples may include but are not limited to swimming pools, spas, fountains, and fish pond or tanks. Not included in this definition are natural or man-made bodies of water such as large ponds, lakes, channels, or ditches. (Ord. 9631 § 2 (part), 1996)
