§ 91.03 DOG BITES.
   (A)   Any individual having knowledge that a person has been bitten by a dog or other animal and who fails to report such incident to the Animal Control Warden is in violation of this chapter. It is the duty of any person conducting or operating a medical facility or any physician or nurse to report to the local law enforcement agency or to the Animal Control Warden when a person is treated for any injury resulting from an animal bite. It is the duty of any law enforcement personnel to report to the Animal Control Warden any reports which are received concerning a person being bitten by an animal.
   (B)   When the Animal Control Warden receives information that a person other than a family member has been bitten by a dog or other animal, the Animal Control Warden shall have such dog or other animal quarantined for a period of ten days. When a dog or other animal is quarantined for biting a person, the following steps shall be followed: the Animal Control Warden shall, in writing, notify the owner of the dog or animal to be quarantined that the owner is responsible for all quarantine costs and if the dog or animal is not retrieved in ten days with all costs being paid at that time, the animal shall be humanely destroyed.
