Aldermen shall receive $50 per regular meeting of the City Council; provided, however, a member shall not receive compensation for more than one regular and/or special or committee meeting per week at the above rate. All members shall be allowed two absences in each year for which compensation will be paid, unless the absence is excused by the Council.
