§ 52.30 METER DEPOSIT.
   (A)   Each rental property application shall be accompanied with a deposit of the sum of $100, to be known as a meter deposit charge.
   (B)   This meter deposit charge shall be deposited in the Gas Operation and Maintenance Fund and in the event any customer discontinues service and has paid in full all amounts due for gas or service charges, then the full amount of the deposit shall be refunded; however, in the event that any amounts are due from the customer, either for gas or service charges, then such amounts shall be deducted and paid into the proper fund and the balance shall be refunded.
   (C)   Any customer who has paid all amounts due within the specified period of two years shall, upon application to the city, be refunded his or her deposit, without interest.
   (D)   The city shall reimburse $100 to any person who has paid the sum of $200 gas meter deposit since 1983, when this section was last amended; provided, the city shall return the sum of $100 only if the customer’s account is current and paid in full.
