§ 50.20 TERMINATION OF SERVICE FOR NONPAYMENT; SERVICE CHARGE; COLLECTION PROCEDURES.
   (A)   If any user of the city’s water and sewer system and/or garbage collection service shall fail to pay the bill for such services by the 25th day of the month, the officers or employees of the city designated thereby to operate and manage the water and sewer system shall be authorized to pursue all rights and remedies of the city with respect to termination or discontinuation of water services to the premises involved; and in the event such termination or discontinuation ensues, service shall not be restored to such property until payment in full of any and all overdue utility bills in connection therewith, including penalties, if any, and including a service charge of forty dollars ($40) for restoration and/or continuance of water services. Once the city dispatches a service order to disconnect for non-payment, which shall be no earlier than 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the 26th of the month, or the next business day if the 26th of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, the customer will be required to pay the account balance due along with the additional service charge, in order for service to be continued or reconnected.
   (B)   The city takes specific notice of the provision of KRS 96.932, granting to cities the authority and right to enforce collection of lawful rates and charges for the use of municipal sanitary sewer facilities by requiring that water service to discontinue until payment for such sewer service is made. The city hereby manifests and declares its intention to use and employ the enforcement provisions of that statute to the fullest extent allowable under law.
