(a) There is hereby established in the Police Division the position of Police Dispatcher/LEADS Supervisor. Such position shall be filled by promotional examination from those persons now holding a full-time position of Police Dispatcher not on a probationary basis. The Director of Public Safety and the Police Chief shall determine any further qualifications for such position and the Civil Service Commission shall commence procedures to test according to law for the person best qualified to fill such position.
(b) The Finance Director is hereby authorized and directed to pay an hourly salary for such position, as determined by Council, commencing January 1, 1987, along with the general payroll of employees of the City.
(c) The duties of such position shall be defined by the Director of Public Safety and the Chief of Police, but shall include the control, training and supervision of the use of the LEADS terminal in the City.
