723.01 DEFINITIONS.
        For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings ascribed to them respectively.
         (a)    "Exhibitor" means any person who is the owner, proprietor, manager or other person in charge or in control of a place as defined in this section.
         (b)    "Juke box" means any machine, apparatus, instrument or device which is, in whole or in part, mechanically or electrically operated upon the insertion of a coin only, in a slot, crevice or opening therein, and which emits recorded music.
         (c)    "Mechanical amusement device" means any machine, apparatus, instrument or device, except a juke box, as defined in this section, but including those that are commonly designated pinball" or "skeeball" devices, which are, in whole or in part, mechanically or electrically operated upon the insertion of coin only in a slot, crevice or opening therein, which is operated solely for amusement in the form of play which determines the skill of the player, which emits or returns no money, coin, slug, token, merchandise, reward, free play or other thing of value, and which is not so constructed or equipped as to constitute or become adaptable to use as a gambling device.
         (d)    "Place" means any hall, store, room, shop, restaurant, hotel, cafe, theater, club, institution, headquarters, meeting place or other premises or place within the City, except an actual and bona fide residence.
