No person shall exhibit in the City any theatrical performance of any kind or description, circus, menagerie, puppet show, tumbling, rope or wire dancing or balancing, sleight of hand or minstrel show, carnival or any natural or artificial curiosity, or deception or representation of any kind whatsoever, either real or fictitious, for which compensation is demanded or received, unless the person first obtains from the Director of Finance a license to hold the exhibition or show.
