(a) In order to assure accessibility to any building in the corporation limits, the Chief of the Fire Prevention Bureau may designate a fire lane on the front side of a building prohibiting parking or standing vehicles. He may then order the property owner to post and mark the area in a conspicuous manner to prevent parking or standing vehicles in that area.
(b) Fire lanes shall be required by the Chief of the Fire Prevention Bureau for all buildings which are set back more than 150 feet from a public road or exceed thirty feet in height and set back fifty feet from a public road.
(c) Required fire lanes shall be at least eighteen feet in width.
(d) The Chief of the Fire Prevention Bureau may designate certain loading/unloading areas within the fire lanes. These loading/unloading areas shall be designated for reasons such as the movement of merchandise or materials to stores within the fire lane area, the loading or discharging of passengers from a mass transit, or the movement of handicapped persons.
