(a) Electrical Inspector.
(1) This chapter shall be administered by the Electrical Inspector and such assistant inspectors as may from time to time be authorized and appointed by the Director of Administration.
(2) Neither the Electrical Inspector nor his assistant inspectors shall engage in the business of sales, installation or maintenance of electrical wiring, electrical devices or electrical material, either directly or indirectly, and neither shall have any interest in any such business at any time while holding office.
(b) The Director of Administration may enter into an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners of Champaign County, Ohio, to empower the Champaign County Building Department to perform the functions of Electrical Inspector under this chapter which shall then have all the rights and authority of the Electrical Inspector. Upon entering into an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners of Champaign County, Ohio, all standards as adopted or thereafter adopted by said Board of County Commissioners, shall be deemed adopted by the City of Urbana. Copies of said standards shall be on file with the Clerk of Council.

(c) Inspection. Upon completion of any building, as described in Section 1315.03
, the person installing the same shall notify the Electrical Inspector, who shall inspect the installation within two working days of the time notice is given. If it is found to be fully in compliance with this Electrical Code, and does not constitute a hazard to life and property, he shall post on the premises a certification that the work has been performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code, and that the same may then be concealed.
(d) Reinspection. The Electrical Inspector may periodically make a thorough reinspection of the installation in the buildings of all electric wiring, electric devices and electric material now installed, or that may hereinafter be installed, within the jurisdiction of this Code, and when the installation of any such wiring devices or material is found to be dangerous or in an unsafe condition, the person owning, using or operating the same shall be notified and shall make the necessary repairs or changes required to place such wiring devices and material in a safe condition, and have such work completed within fifteen days, or any longer period as specified by the Electrical Inspector. The Electrical Inspector is empowered to disconnect or order the discontinuance of electrical service to such wiring, devices or material so found to be defectively installed until the installation of such wiring devices and material has been made to conform with this chapter, at which time he shall issue a written permit for the renewal of electrical service.
(e) Conformity Required. No certificate of inspection shall be issued unless the electric wiring connecting the light and power installations are in strict conformity with the provisions of this chapter, the State statutes, the rules and regulations issued by the State Industrial Commission, under the authority of State statutes, and unless they are in conformity with the approved methods as laid down in the National Electrical Code.
