The Division of Engineering shall be supervised, managed and directed by the City Engineer. It shall consist of the Engineering Section and the Building and Zoning Standards Section. It shall be the mission of the Division to oversee the engineering requirements of the City, including review of public works plans and specifications; inspection of City roads and structures as needed; inspection and repair of sidewalks on City rights of way; supervise public works construction; issue building and zoning permits; enforce prevailing wage laws; and identify and correct building, zoning and civil nuisance code violations.
